This month’s member exclusive is all about reining horses as Clinton’s mentor and Australian horseman Ian Francis gives a lesson on two of Clinton’s personal horses. Ian works with Brie (Hail of a Princess) and Marty (Great Like Elvis), two of Clinton’s 3-year-old reining futurity horses. Both of the horses are currently transitioning from the snaffle bit to the bridle and are concentrating on neck reining. Ian starts off by checking the softness and suppleness of each horse, and then practices and critiques each of the reining maneuvers with them (spins, rollbacks, sliding stops, backing and circles). Clinton is excited about both horses’ futures and took a lot of great tips away from Ian’s lesson. We hope you enjoy the lesson and learn as much as he did.
