She started out just like you. She worked hard. She learned about horses. She was Clinton's shadow. Shana Terry is one of very few people on earth that Clinton trusts with his name. She is a Professional Clinician. She teaches the coursework from Clinton's Clinics.
"I enjoyed the weekend sooo much, I only wish some of my friends would have been there too. You are such a thorough teacher and have such a gift at reading a horse and the ability to fix the problems." Diane P. As written in an email to Shana.
"I wanted you to know how much you had helped us. The clinic was an absolutely wonderful experience, and we both learned so much. Now that she has gotten over the main part of her fear, she is showing me the wonderful horse I always knew she could be, but I didn't know how to find." Jennifer T.
As a graduate of Clinton Anderson's Apprenticeship program, Shana has Clinton's seal of approval. Throughout her apprenticeship she learned Clinton's Method of training horses as well as his Method of training people to train horses.
Who Is Shana Terry
"Just wanted everyone to know what a fabulous job Shana did for us in Oklahoma City. The cruising lesson was scary but boosted my confidence soooo much." Karen R.
Shana attended her first Clinton Anderson clinic when she was 14 at the barn where she boarded her horse. She became a regular at the clinics Clinton held there every six weeks. By the time Shana turned 15, Clinton was so impressed with the young girl's dedication to learning that he asked her to become an Apprentice.
"Shana would sit there from 7 o'clock in the morning to 6 or 7 o'clock in the evening watching my clinics and listening to me. Other than going to the bathroom or getting something to eat, that girl would not move." remembers Clinton. "I have yet to meet another young person who has the dedication and ability to stay focused like she did."
Though Shana knew that she wanted to be a trainer and clinician she struck a deal with her Dad that she'd get a college degree and then pursue her horse-related goals. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management as well as Equine Business Management from the University of Findlay in Ohio.
Today Shana is living her dream of training horses and teaching clinics as a Clinton Anderson Professional Clinician. Shana knows Clinton's program inside and out. Her passion for learning and for helping people improve their horsemanship is something that has never wavered. Shana's ability to help horse owners improve their training techniques and her insatiable desire to learn make her an outstanding teacher and communicator.
The most recent graduate of Clinton's Apprenticeship Program, Magen comes with Clinton's personal seal of approval. She knows the Method inside and out and is an outstanding teacher and communicator.
Who is Magen Warlick
Magen considers her career as a Professional Clinician an opportunity of a lifetime. From Spokane, Washington, the accomplished horsewoman's background includes experience in dressage, hunters and jumpers, and eventing. A rider all of her life, Magen grew up catching rides at the barn where she worked, took lessons and competed.
Magen got her first taste of Clinton and the Method at a Walkabout Tour in Puyallup, Washington, and after watching him work with a reactive Thoroughbred during the trailer loading demonstration, decided to try his Method on her own off-the-track Thoroughbred. At home she had her horse loading on the trailer in twenty minutes - quite a change from the usual five-hour ordeal loading him in the trailer usually took. Convinced that there was much to be learned from Clinton, Magen began to study the Method and soaked up as much information as she possibly could.
It was when she found herself at crossroads in her college career that Magen decided to give the Clinton Anderson Apprenticeship Program a try. Her desire to help people and her love of horses made her a standout applicant, and her dedication to learning the Method impressed Clinton. "She has outstanding people skills and has turned into a phenomenal horsewoman," Clinton says. "She has the drive and focus to be very successful."
After three years of working alongside Clinton and his Professional Clinician, Shana Terry, Magen is ready to establish her own career as a Clinton Anderson Professional Clinician, an opportunity that excites her. "I really love to help people. When I can show somebody how to teach their horse something and they both get it, it's the most gratifying experience in the world," Magen explains.
