Wahl Clipper and Clinton Anderson Team Up for Charity Ball Toss Benefitting the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA)

The sight of nearly a thousand tennis balls being thrown into arena dirt may be one of the more surreal sights you can imagine. But the thousands of visitors at four recent stops of Clinton Anderson's Wahl Walkabout Tour were witness to just that in the "Wahl Ball Charity Toss" in Columbus, OH, Elkhorn, NE, Rock Springs, WY and Waco, TX.

The brainchild of Wahl Clipper, the Wahl Ball Charity toss raised $20,841 for the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). Attendees at the Wahl Walkabout Tours, which feature Australian trainer Clinton Anderson in two full days of horsemanship demonstrations, purchased balls for $5 each, with proceeds going to NARHA. Later in the weekend, a stake was pounded in the center of the arena, everyone loosened up their throwing arm and bam - the magical grace of hundreds of tennis balls flying through the air. Besides raising money for charity and just the fun of doing something silly, tossers that came the closest to the target had the chance to win a full set of Clinton Anderson videos valued at over $1,800, and a Wahl Arco Clipper among other prizes. In Ohio, tossers raised $3,377 for NARHA which was matched both by Clinton Anderson and Wahl Clipper. In Nebraska, an enthusiastic crowd raised $3,755, the crowd in Wyoming raised $3,155, and not to be outdone in Texas, they raised $3,800.

"It's the most fun I have all weekend. The kids, the adults, everyone just loves it - it doesn't get any better, everyone having fun, raising money for charity," said Clinton Anderson after the last toss in Rock Springs, WY on September 10, 2006.
