Success Stories
This past weekend my wife and I took our horses to a private 3 day Natural Horsemenship clinic. We have been members of the No worries club for a month or so and have watched the videos and I watch the website TV shows as often as I can. We have been working with our horses as much as possible but something seemed to be missing. We had been searching for someone that trained and used Natural Horsemenship methods for a while. Nancy, the person we found and the owner of Fox Grove Farms, was truly remarkable, she came and got our horses and the first lesson was in our driveway teaching us to load our boys properly. By the way, the instructor has trained in clinics with Clinton and several of the other top names in the industry.
We were about 1 1/2 days into the training and we had done our ground work exercises and the next lesson was under saddle. My horse Buckshot had a few issues the most severe was moving everytime I tried to mount him. We got that worked out and we saddled up, We mounted and the 3 of us were just standing in the middle of the arena when my horse for no reason known to us bolted. And when I say bolted, I mean bolted. I did not have my feet in the sturrups and only a rope harness on the horse. Having watched the TV videos, the one I watched the most was about the emergency one rein stop.
Well Buckshot got about 3 steps before I got him turned around and stopped. Our instructor could not believe that I reacted so quickly inorder to prevent myself from getting hurt or something worse. After the problem was under control she said that the next lesson was going to be about that very thing. To make a long story short, thanks to Clinton Anderson's videos and great instruction I am able to write this letter. We will be attending the clinic in Tampa at the end of this year and the one in Okeechobee the first of next year and look forward to many years of great Natural Horsemenship.
