Meet Our First Australian Method Ambassador

Although he grew up in a bustling city on the east coast of Australia, Method Ambassador Josh Standen didn’t let that stop him from being around horses as a boy. Instead, he relied on friends who were lucky enough to have horses to help him get his horsemanship fix. While Josh actively pursued sports throughout his school years, his passion for horses never waned. At the age of 17, he began competing in gymkhanas and working equitation classes. “It was more for fun than anything else, and I was just happy to be involved with horses,” he says.

The more serious he got about competing, the more he saw the importance of having an all-around well-trained horse. “The Method appealed to me because plain and simple it works. It’s laid out so logically that it is quite literally idiot-proof,” Josh says.

He studied the Method and got solid results with his personal horses, and then began taking in horses for training. The results spoke for themselves, and he started seriously considering a career as a trainer. “The Method Ambassador program was exactly what I was looking for,” Josh says. “For Clinton to actually say, ‘Congratulations, you can teach the Method and you’re good enough to be an ambassador for Downunder Horsemanship,’ that’s an accomplishment.”

It’s an honor Josh doesn’t take lightly and shares the Method with as many horse owners as he can reach. “I look forward to sharing the knowledge I’ve learned with others and helping them with their horsemanship,” he says. “There’s no better approach to horsemanship. The results are consistent across the board, and that speaks volumes.”

Josh can be contacted at 04 3722 1730 or [email protected]. Visit his webpage and watch a video in which he shares his thoughts about horsemanship and being a Method Ambassador at www.certifiedclinician.com/JoshStanden.aspx.
