This summer, the Michigan based Method meet-up group, Mich-a-Roos, invited Professional Clinician Shayla Smock to work with them to improve their application of the Fundamentals exercises. Eight members of the group worked with Shayla over the course of four days.

Here is what the horsemen had to say about their experience learning from Shayla:

“I appreciate how she explained the why and how that exercise leads into the next exercise. She also helped me understand the steps of the exercises too. Shayla is one of the best!” – Rebecca Ferris

“Shayla did a great job. If you didn’t understand how to do something, she explained it very well or demoed it for you and made sure you understood it.” – Vicky Hoover

“Highly skilled and knowledgeable. That, coupled with the fact that she was so approachable, made learning from her easy and enjoyable. I learned a lot and moved outside my comfort zone enough to make progress in my horsemanship.” – Daniele Knight

“Awesome job. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the Intermediate level of the Method.” – Gordon Runyon

“I learned so much about myself and my horse during this clinic. Shayla explained everything so well, we were all able to understand and do the exercises. She was very professional and personable.” – Betty Elenbaas

“She explained things in a way that was easy to understand, and she always gave feedback on whether you were doing the exercise well or if there was something that you needed to change. I appreciated Shayla’s positive attitude and commitment to helping each and every person be the best that they could be!” – Eliese Tilmann

Shayla travels the world teaching lessons and clinics and accepts horses for training. As a Professional Clinician, she is available to instruct all levels of the Method, including Fundamentals, Intermediate, Advanced, Colt Starting, and Foal Training. Learn more about Shayla on her website.
