Clinton Anderson’s One Hell of a Journey

When Clinton came to the United States to chase his horsemanship dreams, he had $400 in his pocket and his favorite bridle. While he had a passion to succeed, when he officially established Downunder Horsemanship in 1998, he had no idea how big of an impact the company would have on the lives of horse owners and their equine partners around the world.

“I often think that people don’t realize that I was just like most of them starting out with horses. I had no idea what I was doing and that lack of knowledge led to frustration, which ultimately led to creating the Method,” Clinton says. “I’ve had a lot of help along the way and appreciate all of my loyal supporters. When I embarked on my career as a clinician, I believed in myself, but I had no idea how far I’d get. There’s no doubt that Downunder Horsemanship has come a long way in 25 years. There have been lots of ups and downs, moments when I wanted to give it all up and more often than not times when I knew we were making a difference in the world. It’s been nothing short of one hell of a journey.”

In celebration of Downunder Horsemanship’s 25th anniversary, Clinton’s taking a trip down memory lane in the ongoing video series, “One Hell of a Journey.” Throughout the series, he shares everything from what drew him to horses as a young boy to what led him to become a clinician and all the ups and downs along the way. So far, four videos have been released in the series. You can watch them on the Downunder Horsemanship YouTube channel as well as the Downunder Horsemanship app.
